"The Internet Evangelism Coalition is important because it serves as a catalyst for Christian ministries to use the meduim of the day to further advance the Gospel. It helps us share what we learn about this medium with otyhers so they do not need to 'reinvent the wheel' and therefore serve as better stewards of resources"

In the fifteen years of the existence of the Internet as we know it (si= nce the release of the Mosaic web browser in 1993), there has been an amazi= ng proliferation of "Christian web sites." It would not be much a stretch t= o say that a vast majority of churches and Christian organizations have at = least a presence on the Internet.

But there is a big diff= erence between "online presence" and "online impact"  when it comes to= what individual Christians and Christian organizations are doing with thei= r Internet sites. That's the general theme of the third annual Internet Min= istry Conference,  October 20-23, 2008, hosted by Gospel Communication= s (Gospel Communications has actually been hosting this conference since 19= 95 for its ministry partners, but it has only been open to the general publ= ic for the last three years). The conference provides several keynote addre= sses as well as sessions in four different "tracks": Internet Design/Techno= logy, Internet Marketing/Strategy, Internet Discipleship and Internet Evang= elism.

This will be the second year that the Internet Eva= ngelism Coalition http://www.webevangelism.com=  partnered with Gospel Communications to provide the content for = the Internet Evangelism track. Among the sessions to be offered at this yea= r's conference are:

"Communicating Christ Effectively to S= ecular Audiences" - Rusty Wright, Probe.org
-    &= nbsp;     Rusty has a passion for understanding the min= dset of a non-Christian audience and effectively communicating the truth of= the Gospel
"Innovate and Collaborate to Set Your Web/Mobile Evangelis= m Ministry on a Growth Curve" - Dave       &n= bsp;     Hackett, VisionSynergy
-   = ;       Dave and the folks at VisionSynergy a= re "networking gurus", and Dave will talk about ways that the power of coll= aboration can transform your online ministry
"Conversation to Conversi= on" - Johnnie Gnanamanickam, CBN
-      =     The onset of social networking sites has radically chang= ed the way that we use the Internet. How has it impacted the way that we sh= are the Gospel online?
"Learn By Testing: Perfecting an Online Evangel= ism Strategy" - Eric Celerier,  Topchretien.com
-  &nbs= p;       Eric has a contagious passion for re= aching people with the Gospel using the Internet and is a pioneer internati= onally in web evangelism.
"Designing Internet Evangelism for a Postmo= dern Generation" - John Sorensen, Evangelism Explosion
-  &n= bsp;       John will be sharing principles an= d lessons learned from the development of XEE, Evangelism Explosion's new o= utreach to today's generation.

In addition to these worksh= ops, there will be sessions led by Drew Dickens of NeedHim.org, Dani Sliema= n of CBN, David Nolent of Lookingforgod.com and Craig von Buseck of CBN.
Combine the benefits of the sessions in the Internet Evangel= ism track with the excellent presenters in the other ministry tracks, sever= al important keynotes as well as the ample opportunity for networking with = others that have a passion for online ministry and you have the perfect opp= ortunity to develop or sharpen your Internet toolset.

&nbs= p;The deadline for registration for the conference is August 31. You can fi= nd more information about and how to register for the 2008 Internet Ministr= y Conference at http://www.webevangelism.com/3D"http://rs6.net/tn.jsp?t=3Dfxnloqcab.0.0.oif5erba=&nb= sp;(if you are a member  of the IEC, use the registration code IEC_200= 8 in order to receive the IEC discount).
