Internet Evangelism Survey Deadline Approaching |
|
|
|
February 28 is the last day to participate in the first International Internet Evangelism Survey for church and para-church ministries. The survey (www.browngovernance.com/survey/IEC.htm) being facilitated by Brown Governance, is the first time Christian organizations will come together to report and track the effects and results of Internet evangelism.
Through this survey, Christian organizations will share important data that will:
- provide a means of measuring the effectiveness of Internet evangelism based efforts vis-à-vis other organizations and peers;
- establish how other organizations measure their online “success”;
- allow groups to compare their performance measurement practices with organizations and churches of like size and scope;
- introduce performance measurement statistics and practices that may not have been considered or implemented before;
- help all of us compare results and learn from ministries in countries around the globe.
This survey will take approximately 20 minutes to complete and all respondents will receive a free copy of the survey results. All information that you share will be kept completely confidential and will be reported only in aggregate. Please access the confidential and secure survey online at www.browngovernance.com/survey/IEC.htm.

Organizers say a new Christian social networking website, called www.fellowshipBuilder.com is “a unique Website designed to connect Christians in their local community for the purpose of building spiritual, professional and recreational fellowship.”
Dennis Kost, fellowshipBuilder Co-founder and President, says "The sad truth is that a growing percentage of Americans, including Christians, are isolated and disconnected these days. That's not what God intended-he cares for us and created us to be in community with other believers.”
Members of fellowshipBuilder complete a personal, three-dimensional which organizers say is then used to connect members who have similar beliefs, needs and interests.

Worship, Websites Affect Church Growth |
|
|
|
Contemporary worship, geographic location, a website and the absence of conflict are key factors in why some congregations in America are growing, according to a national survey of U.S. faith communities.
The survey, sponsored by the Cooperative Congregational Studies Partnership, found that wanting to grow is not enough. Congregations that grow must plan for growth: “Congregations that developed a plan to recruit members in the last year were much more likely to grow than congregations that had not.”
According to the “FACTs on Growth” report findings:
- Congregations that have started or maintained a website in the past year are most likely to grow. The effort to have a website indicates that the congregation is outward looking and willing to change by non-traditional means.
- While most congregations in America are composed of a single racial/ethnic group, those that are multi-racial are most likely to have experienced strong growth in worship attendance.
The report was written by C. Kirk Hadaway, Director of Research at the Episcopal Church Center in New York.
